UNVEILING OF AMAA  AWARD GUESTS.
Ahead of April 27, date for the grand finale of the 2012 edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), holding at the New Expo hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, organisers have unveiled the names of artistes that are billed to thrill the galaxy of movie stars from across Africa and other parts of the world who are expected to grace the awards night.
Leading the pack is African Queen Crooner, Tuface Idibia, Asa and a Senegalese female singer, Vivian Chidid  Hollywood star actors Morris Chestnut, Rockmund Dumbar, Lynn Whitfield and Maya Gilbert as special guests, at this glamorous night of colour, style and celebration of movies from Africa.  Delegation from countries such as Gabon, Equatorial-Guinea, Gambia, Kenya, South Africa amongst other countries.
According to her, the high point of this year’s AMAA is the screening of films from Uganda, Algeria, Tanzania, South Africa and other African countries.
Explaining why the award night was moved to Lagos, AMAA founder said the decision was based on the need to provide space for the teeming movie stars and stakeholders that usually attend the yearly event.
It has been a long journey but we are glad that we are able to host this year’s edition in Lagos. AMAA has eventually outgrown the former host environment.  We needed the space to accommodate people who have the desire to attend the event. But nonetheless, Bayelsa State still remains one of the major supporters of AMAA.
