Dr. Sid has released a new
single, “Love mine”. Sid shifts away from his party persona on this one as
“Love Mine” is a slower-paced, fun, love song. The Mavin Records act seems to
have settled more comfortable into his role as a singer. His vocals though not
extraordinary, are pleasant enough and definitely work for him
The success of a song,
especially in today’s industry, depends on its entertainment delivery. If the
music does not entertain then it’s regarded as a flop, delivery is a key
criterion to a successful hit.
The track was produced by Don
Jazzy who has an outstanding record as one of the best music producers in
Nigeria. The unique beat is applied well to the music. Coupled with good
entertainment in the adlibs, “Love Mine” (even though it’s not party-focused)
doesn’t leave you gloomy or bored.
Dr. Sid sits himself in a
love bubble all through, as he describes how much in love he is, skillfully
expressing the romantic side of him. The lyrics of the music place him in a
mesmerized state, ‘feels so good to be loved, loving you feels so good’ as he
tries to maintain a good connection to
the listener, choosing not to be on the fence, ensuring the sole message of
love is understood.
Though a very commendable
effort, “Love Mine” is certainly not the best of Dr.Sid as he has done better
in times past. He does get extra points however for switching his approach, and
making a different kind of love song.
